We are a welcoming cycling club based in Bath and we run friendly rides in the surrounding West Country hills

This website is your first port of call if you’d like to find out more about Velo Club Walcot, see what we’re doing soon, or what we’ve done recently. You’ll find information about what rides we organise, what events and races we plan to attend and when the next club events are.

We started out in November 2006 with the aim of providing a friendly and accessible cycling club for any rider in the Bath area who wanted to ride with a group of like-minded people. Like all sensible folk we enjoy starting our Sundays with a ride, and finishing with a coffee, a chat and some hard-earned cake.

Although we now ride on Wednesdays and Saturdays, too, the Sunday group rides are the core of what we do and are always friendly and sociable and at a reasonable pace for your level of fitness and experience; if you start a ride with us you’ll finish it with us, too. We organise competitive events and separate rides for our racers so we can keep our group rides as much fun as they should be.

We’re always happy to meet new people to ride with so please come join us.

We are also British Cycling, CTT and WTTA affiliated, and have a core of members who are active road, time trial and cyclocross racers – if you fancy having a go, we’re more than happy to point you in the right direction.

VC Walcot is involved with organising road races, cyclocross and a very famous Hill Climb in the Autumn.
