Western Summer CX League at Odd Down
For the first time Bath hosts a cyclocross race at the new Odd Down circuit as part of the local Western League Summer Series of evening events:
 
 
Wednesday 26th June at the new Odd Down Circuit at Bath. Entrance off Chelwood Drive BA2 2AX. Look out for the signs. There is parking and toilet and changing facilities on site.
 
The course will be open for practice from 6pm and racing begins at 6:30 with the Under 12s race (which is free to enter and every participant is guaranteed a prize).
 
Seniors, Veterans, Women and Juniors start at 7pm. Entry on the night is £11 or £4 for the Juniors.
 
There will be prize money awarded in all categories and thanks to Cadence we’ll also being awarding ‘spot’ prizes in all categories for ‘The Most Gutsy Ride’.http://www.cadencebikeshop.com/
 
This brand new course has been designed with VC Walcot cyclo-crossers Jason Bhandari http://velorunner.blogspot.co.uk/ and Charles Coleman,http://www.dreamcyclingclub.co.uk/dream-race-team/charles-coleman/ current Western League Champion, and includes parts of the new tarmac cycle circuit, the first part of the BMX track and the neighbouring woods (the U12s race on a shorter course).
 
There’s no need to pre-enter and you don’t need a racing license. Just turn up, enter on the night and ride!
 
Any off-road capable bike is allowed – including mountain bikes and disc brakes. Cyclocross is widely regarded as one of the most accessible forms of cycle sport, everyone who finishes will get a place.
